These are the rules of the space. They exist to protect you, the people you communicate with, and the integrity of Aglossal. Please read them fully.
By downloading, installing, or using Aglossal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app. You must be at least 17 years of age to use Aglossal. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you are 17 or older. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, contact us immediately at legal@embur.world.
Aglossal is a private personal reflection tool. It provides: · A secure, encrypted local vault for writing and recording unsaid thoughts · Voice memo recording for personal use · Optional release features: Anonymous Pulse, Direct Delivery, and Time Capsule · Shadow Portrait — an AI-generated personal reflection based on anonymized behavioral patterns · On-device crisis keyword detection that surfaces regional mental health resources Aglossal is not a medical device, clinical service, mental health treatment, therapy platform, or crisis intervention service. It is not regulated by any medical or mental health authority. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
Aglossal offers optional Premium subscriptions processed through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system. Pricing (may vary by region): · Monthly Premium: $4.99 per month · Annual Premium: $39.99 per year Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. To manage or cancel your subscription: 1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone 2. Tap your Apple ID at the top 3. Tap Subscriptions 4. Select Aglossal and choose your option Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly. When you upgrade from a Monthly to Annual subscription, unused days on your Monthly plan are credited proportionally toward your Annual plan cost.
You own everything you write, record, or store in Aglossal. We claim no intellectual property rights over your vault entries, voice memos, or any content you create. By using release features (Anonymous Pulse, Direct Delivery, Time Capsule), you grant us a limited, temporary license to transmit your content solely for the purpose of delivery to your specified recipient. This license terminates immediately upon delivery or cancellation. You represent that you have the right to send any content you release through the app and that such content does not violate the rights of any third party.
Aglossal requests access to your device's microphone to enable voice memo recording in the Draft Studio. By granting microphone access, you consent to the recording of audio when you explicitly initiate a recording session. Voice recordings are stored locally on your device. They are only uploaded to our servers (via Cloudinary) when you explicitly choose to send a voice memo via Direct Delivery. We do not access or record audio at any other time. You may revoke microphone access at any time in your iPhone Settings. Revoking microphone access disables voice memo recording but does not affect any other app features.
Aglossal uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to offer Face ID and Touch ID protection for your vault. By enabling biometric lock, you consent to your device using its biometric systems to authenticate you. We do not access, store, collect, or transmit your biometric data at any time. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. You can disable biometric lock at any time in Aglossal Settings.
Aglossal may request permission to send local notifications for daily check-in reminders and Time Capsule delivery alerts. By granting notification permission, you consent to receiving these local notifications. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings → Notifications → Aglossal, or within Aglossal Settings.
Anonymous Pulse: You may send an anonymous emotional signal to a recipient via email. You may not use this feature to threaten, intimidate, harass, or harm any person. Repeated unwanted pulses to the same recipient may result in account suspension. Direct Delivery: You are solely responsible for the content you send via Direct Delivery. You have a 10-minute cancellation window. After this window, the message is delivered and cannot be recalled. Aglossal acts as a relay service only — we do not screen or moderate content before delivery. Sending abusive, threatening, or illegal content is a violation of these terms and may result in immediate account termination and reporting to relevant authorities where required by law. Time Capsule: You are responsible for content sealed in Time Capsules. Capsules cannot be retrieved after sealing but can be cancelled before the scheduled delivery date from within the app. If your account is deleted, all pending capsules are deleted and will not be delivered.
The Shadow Portrait feature uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate a personal reflection based on anonymized behavioral metadata from your vault — not your actual words. By using Shadow Portrait, you consent to this anonymized metadata being sent to Anthropic's API. The generated portrait is an AI-generated creative output based on patterns, not a clinical assessment, psychological diagnosis, or medical opinion. It should not be interpreted or relied upon as such. Shadow Portrait requires a minimum of 5 vault entries. Premium subscribers receive more frequent portrait updates.
Aglossal includes an automated on-device crisis keyword detection system. This system scans your text locally for keywords associated with emotional distress and surfaces regional mental health resources if detected. This system: · Runs entirely on your device — no text is transmitted to any server · Does not contact emergency services on your behalf · Does not alert Aglossal, any third party, or any authority · Is not a clinical assessment tool · Cannot diagnose mental health conditions · Is not staffed by mental health professionals If you are in a mental health crisis or emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely solely on this app for crisis support.
You may not use Aglossal to: · Harass, threaten, stalk, or harm any person · Send abusive, defamatory, or illegal content via any release feature · Submit false crisis content to manipulate the crisis detection system · Attempt to identify the sender of an Anonymous Pulse · Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app · Scrape, crawl, or systematically access our services · Circumvent any security or authentication measure · Create accounts for purposes of abuse, spam, or harassment · Use the app if you are under 17 years of age · Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
AGLOSSAL IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE, THERAPY SERVICE, OR CRISIS INTERVENTION PLATFORM. IT IS NOT REGULATED BY THE FDA, CE, OR ANY OTHER MEDICAL REGULATORY BODY. The app, its features, and any content generated by or within it — including Shadow Portrait — are for personal reflection purposes only. Nothing in Aglossal constitutes medical advice, psychological advice, or a clinical recommendation. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, thoughts of self-harm, or any psychiatric emergency: · Contact emergency services immediately · Contact a crisis hotline (such as 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the US) · Contact a qualified mental health professional Continued use of Aglossal during a mental health crisis does not substitute for professional care.
All elements of Aglossal — the name, logo, design, code, copy, and features — are the intellectual property of Embur World. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of Aglossal without express written permission. You retain full ownership of all content you create within the app.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AGLOSSAL AND EMBUR WORLD ARE NOT LIABLE FOR: · Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages · Emotional distress arising from use of the app · Relationship, personal, or professional consequences of content you release · Data loss due to device failure, user error, or any cause outside our control · Actions taken by recipients of your released content · Inaccuracies or limitations in the Shadow Portrait or crisis detection features · Service interruptions or downtime OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF AGLOSSAL WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
AGLOSSAL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete all my data. This immediately and permanently erases all your data from our servers and your device. This action is irreversible. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that: · Violate these Terms of Service · Use release features to harass or harm others · Engage in fraudulent activity · Create accounts for abuse or spam In cases of serious violation — including threats of violence, illegal content, or harassment — we may report information to relevant law enforcement authorities as required by law.
We will notify you in-app before any material changes to these Terms of Service. Continued use of Aglossal after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to updated terms, you may delete your account before the effective date.
These Terms of Service are governed by applicable law. If you have a dispute with us, we encourage you to contact us first at legal@embur.world — we resolve most issues quickly. For users in the EU: You may have the right to use alternative dispute resolution mechanisms or lodge a complaint with a consumer protection authority in your country. For users in Kuwait: These terms comply with applicable Kuwaiti law including the E-Commerce Law and Consumer Protection Law.
