You write, hold, and optionally release them when you're ready. It is not a social app, a messaging app, or a therapy service. It is a private space that is entirely yours.
Nobody but you. All vault entries are encrypted with AES-256 and stored only on your device. We cannot read your vault entries — we have no access to them. They are protected by Face ID or Touch ID. They never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to release them via a feature like Direct Delivery.
Yes — you have a 10-minute window after sending to cancel. After that window closes, the delivery is sent and cannot be recalled. You can cancel from the release screen by tapping "Cancel delivery" before the countdown expires.
Shadow Portrait generates a personal psychological reflection using Claude (Anthropic's AI). It reads only anonymized behavioral patterns from your vault — total entry count, emotion tag distribution, revision frequency, and time-of-day writing patterns. Your actual words never leave your device. The portrait is a creative mirror, not a clinical assessment. It requires at least 5 vault entries.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel or change your plan: open iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Aglossal. You can cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue refunds directly.
If you registered with email, use the "Forgot password" link on the sign in screen — a reset email will be sent to your address. If you used Sign in with Apple, sign in with the same Apple ID. If you are still unable to access your account, email us at support@embur.world and we will help.
Open Settings within Aglossal → scroll to "Danger zone" → tap "Delete all my data" → type DELETE to confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our servers and your device. This action is irreversible. Your vault entries are also wiped. If you have pending Time Capsules, they will be cancelled and not delivered.
Aglossal is rated 17+ on the App Store and intended for users aged 17 and older. The content of the app — personal emotional reflection, unsaid messages, release features — is not appropriate for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.
No. Aglossal is a personal reflection tool, not a clinical service. It has not been evaluated by any medical or psychological regulatory authority. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care. The crisis keyword detection feature surfaces resources but does not provide clinical assessment or contact emergency services on your behalf.
Aglossal includes on-device keyword detection that can surface mental health resources. These are provided for convenience only. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line directly. Do not rely on this app for crisis support.
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete any data we hold about you. Most actions can be done directly within the app in Settings. For anything else, contact us below.
